What is Medication Synchronization?
Medication Synchronization, also known as med sync, is when your pharmacist aligns your medication refills so you can pick them up or have them delivered on a single day each month. There is no additional cost for this program and it has many benefits including:
- Reducing the time you take figuring out which medications need refilled and when they need to be filled
- Allows you to make fewer trips to the pharmacy or have fewer deliveries
- Provides an opportunity to meet with a pharmacist to discuss your medications each month
How does it work?
- Talk to your pharmacist about enrolling in the med synchronization program.
- Your pharmacist will review your medication profile each month and create a plan to have all ongoing monthly refills aligned to be picked up or delivered on a single day.
- Call the pharmacy when you would like to pick up your medications or have them delivered. Let a pharmacist know if you would like your medications refilled automatically and then contact you for pick up or delivery.
- Let the process repeat each month for an easier way to manage medication refills.
Why should I care about medication synchronization?
Med sync is a helpful way to simplify refills for patients taking multiple medications. Many people have missed doses of their medicine because they did not refill their prescription before it ran out.
